We should not forget that it was people that conceived, and constructed  language, and that we can collectively change it when needed. I suggest that vivitorment, not vivisection, is a word apropos of the need to describe procedures that literally tortures defenseless animals.

This tyranny doesn't take a holiday

Atrocities are no less atrocities when they  occur in laboratories
and are called research. George Bernard Shaw

And its the despoilment of 'human character' that spawns rape, murder,

and ongoing megadeath wars.  J.B. Suconik

"My [animal] research had only shown an already known phenomenon... it was
completely useless because the conditions under which the animals were
studied didn't correspond to the human condition to which I considered
applying the result..." Dr. Roger E. Ulrich, American behaviorist
psychologist, former animal experimenter

"There isn't a single genetically manipulated mouse that has been used yet
to produce a drug that cures a disease." Kathleen Murray of Charles River,
the world's largest company for purpose-bred lab animals

"I am a German native, born and raised in Germany so I know what I am talking about. There is no difference between what Hitler did and what people are doing to animals, i.e., breed and save the purebreds and kill the rest!"  Renate
