Vivitorment is not in the dictionary, but here pertains to a procedure with a label
     that is always descriptive. Labels do matter, it often make a difference
    when addressing a group on a matter of vital importance that language is
              explicit. The word vivisection is not always understandable, but the  
         word vivitorment provides an inkling of meaning, and rightly so. From
the moment millions of healthy active animal are placed in cages,
         they experience torment prior to the torture that
          they will probably experience in the name of 
interest. 

We should not forget that it was people that conceived, and constructed  language, and that we can collectively change it when needed. I suggest that vivitorment, not vivisection, is a word apropos of the need to describe procedures that literally tortures defenseless animals.
